Constricted, the five piece prog-metal band hailing from NW Ohio, has come a long way from their “KISS KIDS” roots. Founding members Vincent Rinker(bass) and Raymond Tharpe(drums) starting playing together at an early age. Known by their parents and family as the “Kiss Kids” they were covering all your KISS favorites, playing living room concerts featuring keyboards, Kettles, and Pans. Their music taste matured and upon arriving in their teen years met a long-haired shredder in a music store, Joseph Genovesi. He auditioned on the spot with the solo to Ozzy Osbourne's “Crazy Train”. He was coerced into coming to his first practice with a “sweet” deal. They played together with various others, but the trio remained the core of the lineup. Some years later they plucked a quiet creative guitar player, William Ackerman, from the band formerly known as Elysium Dream. They called him and made their “strategically” planned jam invite. They had their first practice playing Iron Maiden's “the Trooper” and without any planning both guitars played the appropriate harmonies and solos. The last addition occurred when the drummer for the local band “Premonition”, Antony Knisely, sought out the four playing under the name MyndCrym, and asked for an audition. The lineup has remained the same ever since, with Antony picking up keyboards. Recently their musical creatism has been fueled by the Libertarian philosophy. Constricted is influence by Iron Maiden, Opeth, Dream Theater, Camel, Yes, and any other band that has sound musicianship, inventive qualities, or just play good music.
